Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Deedy platform. By accessing or using Deedy you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.
Deedy is a DIY property marketplace operated by Deedy (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa. The Platform enables private property sellers to list residential properties for sale and enables prospective buyers to search for, view, and enquire about listed properties, without the use of a traditional estate agent.
To use Deedy as a seller you must be the registered owner of the property you wish to list, or be duly authorised to act on behalf of the registered owner. You must be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into legally binding agreements under South African law. Deedy reserves the right to verify your identity and ownership at any time.
Sellers are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted in a property listing is accurate, complete, and not misleading. Deedy may remove any listing that violates these Terms or applicable law. Property valuations provided through the Platform are generated using third-party data (Lightstone) and are indicative only. They do not constitute professional valuations or guarantees of sale price.
The once-off property report fee of R170 is non-refundable once the valuation report has been generated and accessed by the seller. By proceeding with payment you acknowledge and accept this condition.
Buyers using the Platform to book property viewings must attend at the confirmed time or cancel with reasonable notice. Misuse of the viewing booking system, including repeated no-shows or false enquiries, may result in suspension of your account. Deedy is not a party to any transaction between buyer and seller and accepts no liability for the outcome of negotiations, offers, or sales.
Fees payable on the Platform are set out in the relevant service pages and may be updated from time to time. All amounts are in South African Rand and inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider. Deedy does not store card details.
All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Deedy or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Platform content without our prior written consent. By submitting photographs or other content to the Platform, you grant Deedy a non-exclusive licence to use that content in connection with the operation and promotion of the Platform.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deedy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform, including loss of profit, loss of data, or property damage. Deedy's total liability to you in respect of any claim shall not exceed the fees paid by you to Deedy in the 12 months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
We may amend these Terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on the Platform and, where appropriate, you will be notified. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
